About CDT

Outstanding Paratransit Service
Since 1975

At CDT, we’re proud of our long-standing tradition of providing exceptional transportation for the Chicagoland disabled community. Our entire business is exclusively focused on transportation for those with disabilities, allowing us to provide an outstanding level of quality service to our riders for 40 years. This is our mission and our vision: to operate with integrity, reliability and trustworthiness in everything we do.

Today, ridership with CDT continues to grow. Business efficiency grows, too, as we leverage new technology to reduce the average weekday service hours required to complete our trips – a testament to our safe, efficient and customer-friendly transportation services.

What’s more, we’re always looking for better ways to serve you, better ways to build our CDT family of employees and better ways to meet the needs of the Chicagoland community.

Our Proud Chicago Paratransit History

1975

CDT is founded to provide transportation for Illinois Department of Public Aid. CDT is the area's first transportation program to use dedicated vehicles and a flat service rate.

1976

CDT wins the bid to provide transportation for disabled riders in the City of Chicago through the Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens and Handicapped(MOSCH).

1985

CDT becomes 1 of 4 private carriers contracted by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) to provide transportation for the disabled community in Chicago. For over 21 years, more customers choose to ride with CDT than all the other carriers combined.

1994

CDT implements the Teletrac Vehicle Locator (AVL) system to improve demand-response dispatching capabilities and on-time performances.

1995

CDT implements the in-vehicle Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) system so drivers can post trip data in real time, improving CDT's customer service capabilities and eliminating costly paperwork, saving CTA thousands of dollars.

2008

CDT begins a partnership with Pace, which now manages the Chicago ADA Service Area.
